Ever since Nigerian blogger, Linda Ikeji debuted her pregnancy bump, she had faced serious backlash for obvious reasons.
For years, most of her fans knew their model as a self-styled celibacy advocate known for her stance against pre-marital sex. The billionaire blogger in the past occasionally preached against multiple sexual involvements and sex before marriage, on an attempt to motivate and mentor young girls in the coming generation.
On getting to know about her affair with Delta-bred Sholaye Jeremi, which led to her being pregnant outside wedlock, many media users took no second thought to criticise her blatantly.
Following this, the popular blogger took to her blog to apologise and address this very controversial issue that surfaced, claiming her age was responsible for her actions. In the very lengthy story she shared, she wrote:
“I don’t do married men, Sholaye Jeremi was a single man, unfortunately, he and I are a closed chapter that can’t ever be opened again”
She claimed her newly born son Jayce was the greatest blessing to happen to her, thanking God for using her baby daddy as a vessel
“God doesn’t make mistakes. If you believe that you are always led by God like I believed then, I have to believe that God led me to this man for whatever reasons best known to him. I thought God sent him as a life partner, but I guess he just used him as a vessel for my greatest blessing”
While she went on to narrate how she met with Sholaye Jeremi and their misunderstandings, she also addressed critics who nailed her for blaming ladies who had babies before marriage. She ended the long post with a motivation for ladies to create wealth with their brains and make sure they value their bodies, not having casual sex with men.
Immediately after this apology, more media users particularly on Twitter went on to raise more criticism, lashing her for once criticising the same group she had recently joined.
